Our deepest condolences to the Harnish family. Linda and I worked for many years together in several of the kitchens at CFB Gagetown. We had so many laughs and good times, too many to list. I do recall one time my husband and I were walking towards the Pioneer Days Fireworks when I heard someone call out my name. It was Linda, she was in a car and with a couple of her kids/grandkids. She stopped and said (to her kids I believe), “see, Georgie is a girl”. I guess whenever she mentioned my name in conversation they thought she was seeing a male friend named Georgie, lol. I also recall when we were working at H-22, (before the big house (H-33) was built. Linda was changing the milk during lunch hour. This time it happened to be the chocolate milk. Well she got the milk in the container okay, but when she tried to get the plastic off the spout (we called it a “tit”), she yanked so hard that the whole tit came off!! Chocolate milk was flying EVERYWHERE, as she laughed so hard trying to stop the milk from going on nearby diners and called out to me for help. As I was approaching her I said “Linda, put your finger over the hole”. Well we had a good laugh over this for many years. Linda would stand in the dish room (H-22) as we worked, and would turn to the little radio on the shelf and sing quietly. She said the song reminded her of her husband and she’d continue singing to the end of the song - then back to work!! She always spoke of her kids/grandkids and her husband Doug. She loved you all so very much and would do anything for any of you!! I loved Linda. She will forever be in my heart and thoughts. May you all find comfort in knowing that she made a huge difference in so many lives. Blessings to you all as you grieve the loss of a great human!! Rest in Peace my dear friend and co-worker!
