Wayne Paul Noseworthy

Wayne Paul Noseworthy, of Burton NB, passed away on March 14, 2026 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Born in Botwood, NFLD, he is the son of the late Watson Noseworthy and Margaret (Jim) Lorenzen of Botwood NFLD. He is preceded by his oldest son, Benjamin whom we lost last year.

He is survived by his wife, Iris; son, Phillip (Alexandra); daughter-in-law, Tara, grandkids, Cutler, Watson, Owen, and Ava; brother, Gary (Edith), his sister, Darline (Jim); step-brothers, Bill (Janice) Lorenzen and Wayne (Cathy) Lorenzen.

For over 40 years Wayne had proudly served in the Canadian Military with tours in Croatia and Eritrea. He was a man who did not boast but was honored to have served as Chief Warrant Officer and a Captain. To many, he was a soldier, to his family he was simply Dad/Poppy; steady, dependable, and always there when it mattered most.

Wayne was always there for his family and his community and was a pillar of strength when times were hard. The lessons he taught weren’t always spoken out loud but were shown in the way he lived: work hard, stand by your word and take care of the people beside you. He gave decades to his country but gave his whole heart to his family. That is the legacy we will carry forward.

“We will miss your voice, your presence, and the way you could make everything feel steady just by being there. The values you instilled in us will live on in the way we live our lives, in the way we treat others, and in the pride, we carry of being your family.”

A Memorial service will be held at Saint Luke’s Chapel, CFB Gagetown on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at 2:00 pm with Major Audrey Brown officiating. With a reception to follow at the Carleton Barracks Officer's Mess building F6 3-6pm. Interment will take place in the spring at Oromocto Pioneer Gardens.

In lieu of flowers a donation can be made in his honor to the John Wood Foundation or Hospice Fredericton.
