Obituary of Hazen Archibald Carpenter

The family of Hazen Archibald Carpenter are sad to announce his passing on January 23, 2025, at Hospice House, Fredericton. Born on April 3, 1945, in Woodstock, New Brunswick, he was the son of the late Archibald “Archie” and Nina Carpenter.

Hazen grew up and lived most of his life in Woodstock, New Brunswick. He had a varied career, which included driving transport, wholesale fruit and produce and working in a parts department. Hazen was also very proud to be a member of the Woodstock Auxiliary RCMP for several years. He left the area moving to Oromocto 6 years ago to be closer to his family.

An outdoorsman, Hazen loved to hunt and fish. Being in nature was important for him. More recently he cherished spending all the time he could at the family cottage on Lake George.

Hazen will be missed by his family: Arlene Burpee, Lloyd Black, Dan Crabbe (Nancy McGrath), Kristy, Nathaniel, Ashlyn, Addison, Laela, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to his parents, Hazen was predeceased by his loving wife, Marcine (Davidson) Carpenter.

The family would like to express their sincere and heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Enhanced Living Oromocto for the friendship, kindness and compassion they provided Hazen for the last six years. Your care made a home for Hazen and will always be remembered.

A Celebration of Hazen’s Life will take place at the Oromocto Funeral Home on Saturday, February 8, 2025, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm, with Words of Remembrance at 2:00 pm. Donations in Hazen’s memory to Hospice House Fredericton, in whose kind and compassionate care Hazen spent his final days, would be appreciated by the family.
