Obituary of Blaise McPherson
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Blaise McPherson, who left us peacefully on January 23, 2025, surrounded by his beloved family. Born on February 3, 1930, Blaise's life was a testament to love, dedication, and service.
Preceded in death by his cherished wife, Irene (nee Veinott), who passed on May 29, 2014, Blaise leaves behind a legacy through his six children: Josephine Bent, Blaise McPherson Jr., Violet MacAskill (Paul), Merry-Ellen McPherson, Clara McPherson (Robert), and Margeret McPherson (Chantal). His life was further blessed with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom held a special place in his heart.
A proud Cape Bretoner by birth, Blaise found his true home in Oromocto, where he settled and built a life filled with countless memories and lasting friendships. His service to the nation as a member of the RHC The Black Watch until his retirement in 1980 was a source of immense pride and honor.
As we bid farewell to our beloved Blaise, we extend our deepest gratitude to the extraordinary medical team from the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, whose exceptional care and compassion helped ease his final days. Special thanks go to Dr. Lee, Dr. Goodyear, Charge Nurse Leah, and Nurses Sam, Christine, Diane, Brianna, Makila, Jaden, and Patrick from the 4th floor SW for their unwavering dedication and support.
Blaise's warmth, kindness, and unwavering love for his family and friends will be deeply missed but never forgotten. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
As per Blaise’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral services. For those who wish, donations may be made to the Special Olympics in Blaise’s memory.
Rest in peace, Blaise. Your life's journey has touched so many and will continue to inspire us all.
