Obituary of Christopher David Tucker
It is with sadness that the family of Sgt Christopher David “Dave” Tucker announces his passing on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at the age of 82. Born in St. Anthony, Newfoundland and Labrador, on February 22, 1942, he was the husband Sheila Tucker of Oromocto.
In addition to his wife, Sheila, Dave leaves behind his brothers, Bud (Marlene), Ed, and Bob Tucker (Wanda); sisters, Berdina Glouster, Anne Poirier (Bob), Joyce Davies, Donna Tucker (Harris), and Joan Hoard (Wallace); aunts, Annie Patey and Josie Carr, and auntie Pam Noble (late Raymond); special cousins, Ned and Vivian Simms and Vashti and Joe Simmonds; special niece, Delenda Stevens, her husband Peter and chosen grandchildren, Alexandra and Lucas Stevens; nephew, Christopher Tucker, his wife Heidi and special great niece Payton Tucker; special sister-in-law, Eunice Tucker, and sisters-in-law, Cindy Morgan, Karen Howland (Eric Ring), and Michelle Morehouse (Darrell); brothers-in-law, Freeman (Maxine) and Tony Hiscock (Tina); daughter, Sandra Tucker; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Dave was predeceased by his parents, Albert and Ruth (Simms) Tucker; brothers, Joseph (Myrtle), Wilfred, Gordon (Clara) and Herb Tucker; sisters, Charlotte Lilly (Frank), Gladys Patey (Edward), Gloria Notaro (Anthony), Pearl Howell (Gabez), Effie Hulin (Charles), and Verna Tucker; mother-in-law, Myra Kay (Jim); brothers-in-law, Art Glouster, Ralph Davies, and Ronald Morgan; sister-in-law, Jody Grimm.
Dave joined the army in 1959 in Camp Gagetown at the Black Watch depot. He proudly served in 1st and 2nd Battalion Black Watch, 1 RCR London Ontario, 2 RCR Gagetown, NB, 3 RCR West Germany and 3 Mech. Commando West Germany, then 4 Service Battalion Maintenance Company in Lahr West Germany. Over his career, he did two tours of UN duties in Cyprus, before finally serving at Range Control in Gagetown until his retirement in 1992. Afterwards, he joined the Commissionaires for 10 years and made Oromocto his home.
A Celebration of Dave’s Life will be held at Rusagonis Baptist Church on Sunday, February 9, 2025 at 2:00 pm. Pastor Brent MacDonald will officiate. For those who were unable to attend a recording may be found at the following link: https://vimeo.com/1055350955?share=copy#t=0
