Obituary of Eric Charles Henderson

It is with great sadness that the family announces his passing of Eric Charles Henderson at Hospice House on Saturday, February 8, 2025.  He was born at home on August 18, 1946 in Cambridge Road, PEI.  He is the son of the late Seymour and Lucy (Richards) Henderson. 

Eric is survived by his daughter, Michelle (Stephen) and their children, Cole (Rachel) and Samantha; son, Scott and his children, Hunter (Taylor), Horatio, Emma, Jonathan and Jackson and great grand-daughter, Mallory.  He leaves behind his brothers, Ken (Laurie) and Phillip (Gerry-Lynn); sisters, Lorraine (Butch), Betty Lou (Ken) and Janice.  He is also survived by his wife Judy (Davidson) and an adopted grandson, Jesse. 

Eric spent 24+ years in the Military with postings in Gagetown, New Brunswick,  Baden, Germany, Trenton, Ontario and Goose Bay, Labrador.  He was part of a UN Tour to Damascus, Syria.  After retirement he worked at Home Hardware until 1996.  In 1997, he went to work for Canadian Tire until his retirement in 2005. 

There are so many people to thank for helping Eric to stay in his home for as long as he did.  We cannot name them all for fear of forgetting someone.  To the staff of Medigas and Extra Mural, you are exceptional people and you have our heartfelt thank you for all your help.  To the staff at Hospice House, you are all amazing. You took such good care of not only Eric, but his family as well.  Thank you for everything.

As per his wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral.  Cremation has taken place and he will be going home to PEI in the spring.  A Celebration of life will be held at the Geary Lion’s Club on Saturday, February 15 from 2-4 pm.
