Obituary of Fay Keenan-Mossop
Mary Matilda “Fay” (Sabattis) Keenan-Mossop passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on February 20, 2025, at the age of 73 years. She was born on March 1, 1951, in Oromocto, New Brunswick.
She will be missed tremendously by her husband, Jim Mossop and his family; children, Charlotte Thurber (Shawn), David, and Kevin Atwin (Amanda); grandchildren whom she adored with all her heart, Anthony, Tyler, Natasha, Jenah, Leigha, Kayla, Jacob, and Hannah; great-grandson Colter (G-Baby); great-granddaughters, Hallie and Sophia; siblings, Mark Sabattis (Joyce), Janice Keenan, and Phyllis Sabattis; many godchildren, nieces, and nephews. Further left to miss her are her special friends, Monique, Violet, and Linda, and her fur babies, Bill, Sadie, and Frankie.
We find comfort in knowing she was met in the spirit world with open arms by her late husband, Donald Keenan and their daughter, Tracy Arthurs, siblings, Alfred, Anita, Levi, Debbie, Genevive, Eldon, and Charlotte, and her parents, Janie and Levi Sabattis.
Momma Fay always met you with the biggest, warmest, contagious smile. She had a heart of gold and would give you the shirt off her back, and help anyone she had met.
To quote a life-long friend from Maugerville, “She was such a great lady. Growing up I always thought how lucky you guys were to have her as a mom. She was always so kind, loving, funny, and cool, and your home always felt so welcoming and safe. I loved Fay.”
“Auntie B” had sass, feistiness, and spunk that no one could compare to. She loved with all her heart.
Thank you for being the best mom/nan ever, and all the memories you left us. Thank you as well to the staff at the DECRH ICU for all that they do.
Friends and family are welcome to gather on Saturday, February 22, 2025, from 2:00 – 6:00 at 638 Route 105, Maugerville, New Brunswick, to share stories and memories. A Funeral Service will be held at the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, beginning at 11:00am, with Fr. Callistus Abazie officiating. She will be joining her late husband Donald and daughter Tracy at the Portobello at a later date.
