Obituary of Robert Glenn Johnson
It is great sadness that the we announce the passing of Robert “Bob” Glenn Johnson, on June 14, 2025, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Born on April 14, 1941, in Peterborough, Ontario, he was the son of the late Roy and Pauline (Steenburg) Johnson.
Bob proudly served 30 years in the Canadian Armed Forces, as a Gunner with 1RCHA B-Battery, and an Admin Branch Postal Clerk. After retirement, he redirected his energy and freedom to work as a greenskeeper with Gage Golf Association in Oromocto. Bob also worked as a Commissioner at the Fredericton Airport. He had a passion for yard work and was an avid gardener.
Bob had an immense love for, and dedication to his family. He adored his grandchildren, and dogs. Bob was very proud of all of his grandchildren. His love also showed through his dedication of being a compassionate caregiver to his first wife, Sheila (Knox) Johnson, and his second wife, Nancy (Myers) Prest. If any family members needed him, he was there.
He will be greatly missed by his second wife, Nancy; daughter, Denise Dorcas (Brent); son, Michael Johnson (Tracy); step-children, Dawn-Marie Lowe (Rob), Dwayne Prest (Tena), and Deanna McCullum (Derek); grandchildren, Molly Bea Dorcas, Carson Dorcas, Matthew Johnson, and Gregory Johnson; step-grandchildren, Zack Lowe, Sydney Lowe, Maddie Prest, Monica Prest, Marissa Prest, Mary-Beth Prest, and Cameron McCallum; great grandchildren, Amber and Auora Johnson; his brothers, Tom (Jackie), Don, Christy (Lynn), and Ralph Johnson, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Bob was predeceased by his first wife, Sheila, and pups, Dandy, Pepper and Maggie.
A visitation will take place on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at McAdam’s Funeral Home, from 7 – 9 pm. A memorial service will be held at the J.A. McAdam Memorial Chapel on Friday, June 20, 2025, at 2 pm, with Pastor Dale Riley as officiant. For those unable to attend, this service will be livestreamed at https://vimeo.com/event/5204948. Interment will take place in the Ridgeview Cemetery, Upper Hainesville, at a later date. For those who wish, donations in Bob’s memory may be made to the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital – ICU, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
