Pastor Wayne was a gentle, kind and compassionate man and I have been blessed to have known him. He was my greatest supporter and encourager during the years I was leading ministries at SSC. My heart is breaking over our great loss and the great light that has gone out in our city. He had the biggest heart for people and extended the love of Christ through his words and acts of kindness. My love and prayers go out to Brenda, Rachelle, Chris and the rest of the family.

Our hearts are shattered over your sudden loss. There are things that make no sense on this side of eternity. What an incredible man Pastor Wayne was . . . he radiated the love of Jesus in his entire being and always had a word of encouragement. When my own husband died of cancer, God spoke these words through my tears. “I WILL COMFORT YOU WITH A COMFORT SO SWEET THAT YOU WILL SEARCH IN VAIN FOR WORDS TO DESCRIBE IT.” I pray the same promise will be true for your entire family. His wonderful traits will live on through his precious grandchildren. With signs of Jesus’ return happening all around us, I feel Wayne went just a bit ahead to prepare a place for his family . . . so in character for him !

I spent a lot of time working with Wayne during the early years of the Alpha Course. Wayne loved people and connected with them so effortlessly because he genuinely cared. He never forgot a name and could seem to always recall a certain fact or concern to ask the person about the next time they met. I’ll miss his kindness, his patience and his hearty laugh. We will all miss him. Praying for Brenda, Justin, Rachelle and the families.

We want to express our deepest condolences to Brenda, Justin and Rachelle and their families.
Wayne and Brenda pastored us for a short time and left an indelible imprint on our lives. They were always very loving, caring and compassionate. A Pastors heart for sure.
We are sure he will be greatly missed for all those close to him. But knowing that this is not the end brings such comfort because of having that assurance of never being parted for eternity because of Christ, hopefully brings with it some peace.
For Wayne, the one whom he served during his life here, he now gets to meet face to face. What joy he must be experiencing.
Our prayers are with you all, that The peace of God that passes all human understanding, will keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus our Lord.

Brenda and Extended Family, We are shocked and saddened at the profound loss of your dear husband. The love he had for you, his wife, children, and others was evident always. He was gentle and kind. You were a special couple. We have fond memories of the time you spent in our area, visits, chats, and pastoring our church. Signe and Ingrid always had a safe place to go at your house when I worked long hours or had meetings. The girls had so much fun together. Justin was special, too. Our condolences and prayers for comfort and strength during this difficult time and in the days ahead. Cherish all the good times and memories which live on forever in the heart but does not remove the void. He will be remembered and missed. Life has many unanswered questions but heaven holds the answers. May God give you all peace and comfort. Brian and Janet

It is with much sadness that I pen this tribute for a Christian friend, Wayne Flowers.
I have two vivid memories of Wayne and Brenda.
My first memory: I loved hearing them sing the song: “I’m the lamb that the shepherd left the flock for”. They sang it like no one else could. I never shared with them, that back in the day, they were my favourite singers in the Atlantic District. Their empathy could be felt through song.
My second memory: I remember his laugh and wonderful smile. He & Brenda always seemed to be laughing and happy. They looked at one another with sheer adoration.
I know that at present, life has taken Brenda’s laugh away. I pray that as her heart heals she will one day laugh again.
Prayers and deep concern are being sent to Brenda; Justin; Rachelle and the their families. I truly care.
Fly high sir, you earned your wings so courageously.

I met Pastor Wayne back in 2006 when I returned to Smythe Street for a candlelight Christmas Eve service. He asked my name, and every time I saw him after this, he always knew it. When I became engaged to a fellow church member, we both agreed we wanted Wayne to be the one to marry us, because he truly lived what he preached: compassion, love, patience and wisdom.
When our baby was dedicated a few years later, he was there to pray over her. And when my family faced a terrible tragedy Christmas night of 2021, despite not knowing our loved one, Wayne was there to help us through this time.
My life, and I know many others, have been impacted in the best way because of Pastor Wayne. My deepest condolences to his family.

We mourn the passing of a remarkable man of God—Pastor Wayne Flowers—a shepherd, encourager, and unwavering pillar of faith to so many of us.
Pastor Wayne’s gentle spirit, compassionate heart, and powerful prayers have left a lasting imprint on my life and the lives of countless others. His wisdom and kindness were steady lights during our darkest moments. Whether in the pulpit, by a hospital bed, or across a table in quiet conversation, he carried the love of Christ with humility, strength, and grace.
Even as he walked through his own trials, he continued to pour out love and encouragement to those around him. That is the essence of a true servant. A life well-lived. A legacy of faith.
To Brenda and the entire family—please know how deeply loved and appreciated Pastor Wayne was. We grieve with you, and we also celebrate the beautiful life he lived and the countless souls he touched.
“Well done, good and faithful servant… Enter into the joy of your Lord.”
