Obituary of Bruce Edward Johnson
The family of Bruce Edward Johnson is sad to announce his passing on July 26th, 2025 at the Dr Everett Chalmer’s Hospital (DECH) in Fredericton, New Brunswick. Born on February 12, 1956, in Kentville, Nova Scotia, he was the son of the late Reuben and Winnifred (Stevenson) Johnson.
Bruce will be missed by his loving and devoted wife of 31 years, Jennie; cherished children, Jeremy (Joanne), Jason, Jessica (Adam), and Jonathan; grandchildren, Kian, Amber, Bailey, Kloe, Bentley, Charley, Pria, and Easton; sisters, Misty (Carl) and Diana, as well as many extended family and friends.
Bruce will be remembered as a friendly taxi driver who was well known and well liked. When he wasn’t enjoying driving around his beloved Oromocto, he could be found playing badminton or tennis, or watching his favourite sports on TV. There was nothing he loved more than to watch his Montreal Canadiens win!
A devout music lover, Bruce and Jennie would attend any music concert, regardless of what was playing. From the country music Jennie loved, to the hard rock for Bruce and everything in between, off they would go, thrilled to attend.
A big thank you to the nurses, staff and doctors from 4 NE at the DECH for the compassion and care given Bruce during his stay. Your kindness was felt by us all, and we will always remember how you took care of him.
A visitation will take place on Friday, August 8th, 2025 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at the Oromocto Funeral Home. A service of remembrance will be held on Saturday, August 9th at 1:00 pm at the Oromocto Funeral Home Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bruce’s name made to the Canadian Cancer Society, or a charity or your choosing, would be appreciated by the family.
