Obituary of Brian James Wagstaff
The family of Brian James Wagstaff are deeply saddened to announce that he passed away at the Dr Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital in Fredericton on September 8, 2025. Born in Sussex, NB, Brian is the son of the late Jean (Bourque) Wagstaff and Kenneth Wagstaff.
Brian is survived by his loving wife of nearly 22 years (34 years together), Barbara; his children, Jody Wagstaff (Misha) and Tanya Smith (Shawn); his grandchildren, Lyrik and baby-on-the-way Wagstaff and Foster and Bren Smith; his siblings, Bruce Wagstaff (Marlene), Pat Cooper (Johnny), and John Wagstaff; and many beloved nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his parents-in-law, Dominic Eugene and Betty (Price) Goodine and his sister-in-law, Linda Wagstaff.
Barb was not only his partner but his best friend; together they shared an unshakable bond built on laughter, loyalty, and a deep understanding of one another that grew stronger every year. They shared countless moments in their home and on the land they so carefully cultivated. Their property became a welcoming place where loved ones often stopped by to visit, enjoy the water, share laughter, and raise an icy cold beer or warm cup of coffee together. Brian passed on to his children a sense of curiosity, a strong work ethic, a love of dad jokes, and the knack for MacGyvering any situation with a roll of duct tape. His grandchildren cherished their time with Grampy driving the golf cart around their property, boating, exploring together in the woods, and enjoying a can of Pepsi.
As per Brian’s wishes, a private ceremony will occur at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, donations to any charity of the donors' choice would be appreciated by the family. To leave a message of condolence, please visit www.oromoctofh.com
