Obituary of Judy Marie Lowe
It is with broken hearts that we share the sudden passing of Judy Marie Lowe of Geary, NB, on September 29, 2025. In her passing Judy has joined her beloved parents, Helena and Everett Lowe of Bridgewater, NS; her infant brother, David Lowe, and her life partner, Gino Durette. She leaves behind her pride and joy, her son Michael (Jodie); the lights of her life, granddaughter Alicia and grandson Aaron; brothers, Derrick (Carol- Lee) Lowe of Innisfail, AB, Richard (Ivy) Lowe and Robbie Lowe both of Bridgewater, NS; sister, Cindy (Richard) Lowe of Great Village, NS, and her many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, extended family members, and friends.
Judy was born in Kentville, NS, on July 25, 1954. As a teenager, she moved to Oromocto, NB, where her father was stationed with the Canadian Armed Forces. Judy called the greater Oromocto area home for the remainder of her days, settling in Geary, NB in 1999 with her life partner, Gino.
Judy was an immensely private person, who held her family and friends near and dear to her heart. She would on occasion tell stories about when she worked for Gage Golf and Curling Club, or as the manager of the Maritime Club at Base Gagetown, of Mike’s adventures growing up in Geary, nights at the Oromocto Legion, and about spending time with friends enjoying each others company. After retiring with 25 years of service at the Maritime Club, she and Gino spent time camping, having backyard fires, roasting marshmallows with her grandchildren as they grew up, watching movies, and spending time with her best friend Carol. Never one to turn down a request for help, Judy spent many years travelling between Geary and Bridgewater, caring for her parents in their later years.
Judy enjoyed the simple things in life – spending time with family, a seafood platter, a cup of coffee and a cookie in the company of her those close to her, a great game of crib, and finding an amazing sale. It wasn’t very often that she would come over empty handed – always bringing her favorite find. “I got you a little something. It was on sale, and I thought of you.” If you have one of these items, you will know how happy it made her to share it with you.
A visitation will be held at the Oromocto Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, from 4:00pm to 6:30pm. Per her wishes, she will be interred alongside her family on Friday, October 17, 2025, at 2:00pm, at the Holy Cross Cemetery in Kentville, Nova Scotia. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, or a charity of the donors choosing.
