Obituary of David Laurence Bruce
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of David Laurence Bruce on October 3rd, 2025, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on July 8th, 1935, he was the son of the late Clarence and Ida (Rideout) Bruce, and beloved husband, of 61 years, to Willa (Molasky) Bruce.
David was a “jack of all trades”. He had many talents, one in particular was his carpentry skills. He was an engineering technician by trade, but worked in many different capacities and positions throughout his careers. However, the best way to describe David was being a family man. He loved his family above all else.
He will be greatly missed by his wife, Willa; children, Clarence William Bruce (Leona), Raymond Wallace Bruce (May), Dana Cordato (Dave), and David “Mark” Bruce (Barb); grandchildren, Meghann Bruce (Alex), Rebecca Bruce (Andrew), Ryan Bruce (Erin), Robyn Bruce, Nichola Sanguellini (Daniel), Santino Cordato, Sarah Bruce, Rachel Bruce, and Christopher Bruce (Brittany); great grandchildren, Maria and Anthony Sanguelline, and Nora Bruce; special brother-in-law, Harold Molasky (Mary Ellen); sister-in-law, Sandra Bruce, as well as many nieces, and nephews.
In addition to his parents, David was predeceased by his sisters, Mary Evelyn MacFarland (Jack), and Beryl Breau (Walter), as well as brothers, Don Bruce (Avis), Constable Neil “Mac" Bruce, and Robert Bruce
A special thank you to Nurse Practitioner Rachel Gallagher, all the Extra-Mural nurses, paramedics, nurses, doctors and staff of the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital ER and 4SW. Your care and compassion were greatly appreciated.
A celebration of David’s life will be held at Oromocto Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 7th, 2025, from 2 pm – 5 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial donations to your local food bank or local hospice.
