I loved her sense of humor, and how she could rattle off something from her childhood like it was from yesterday (like the Dr. Seuss ABC's). I'm so glad I got to know you sis. I'm going to miss you <3

To Nancy and the entire family.
Randy and I were very saddened to hear of the news of Lorri's passing..I first met Lorri almost 40 years ago when I started working at the residence, She was just not a co-worker but became my friend. She was such a joy to be around. We shared many good times in that short period working together. You will be sorely missed Lorri.

I was heartbroken to hear the news of Lorri.
It was always exciting to hear that Tom and Elaine were coming home to Sydney Mines for vacation. Lorri spent some alone time with her grandmother and aunt and would come to babysit my brother and I when needed. I remember I had to make a volcano as a school project and had no idea how. Thanks to Lorri, we made a coal dust, ash, melted crayon volcano in Tilda's kitchen one afternoon. It was the greatest day. Lorri was the most creative, enthusiastic and helpful cousin one could ask for. Thank you for sharing your kindness with me and my family.
Lorri, may the Dear Lord hold your hand as you walk through the Heavenly Garden.
Thinking of Elaine and the family at this time. God Bless!

Lorri deJong was a person who always wore a smile and greeted strangers with grace and humility. I will always remember the day I met her and Nancy over 30 years ago. Playing penny rumoli. Learning that you were having a BBQ on McFazen Court was an open door to have hot dogs for the kids on the street. Lori's heart was in everything she did. RIP Lori.

I am sending my deepest and most heart felt sympathy to you Elaine and all of your family. I remember Lorri from the times that she visited with her family in Sydney Mines and came to Church at Clyde Avenue Baptist. She was such a sweet soul. To lose a child is the most heart wrenching thing a parent could ever have to endure and I know that your faith in our loving Heavenly Father will give you the strength and comfort that you will need in the days that lie ahead. Always know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.

I met Lorri when I started working for her back in 1999 and developed quite a friendship with her over those 20+ years. Even after I quit working I'd see her weekly at TOPS where we'd have some good laughs some weeks and serious discussions others.
I'm still in shock and disbelief of her passing and not sure I will ever understand it but she was loved by so many people, she was an inspiration to so many people and I will miss our friendship and our chats </3 </3 </3

To Nancy, Hailey and the rest of Lorri family I am very sorry to hear the passing of Lorri. She was a pillar of strength and excellence in the human service field, she took the time to give me advice and hear my struggles when I would stop in when I was first starting out in the field. She lead Oromocto Community Residency with grace, compassion along with a kind heart for those needing someone to look out for them. She advocated for those that needed advocating and she stood with those that needed support. She will be missed, but remembered as a kind soul, that thought of the other person.
