Obituary of Ebenezer Hutchings Gosse

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Ebenezer “Eben” “Ed” Hutchings Gosse announces his passing on October 24, 2025, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital surrounded by family.

Born on June 6, 1937, he was the son of the late Ebenezer and Phoebe (Babcock) Gosse.

Ed retired from the Canadian Artillery after 37 years of service, he also taught combat with the Canadian Reserves at their combat center. 

Surviving are his wife, Wilma; daughters, Karen (John) Frampton, of Fredericton, and Sandra (Sam) (Todd) Sloan, of Nova Scotia; grandchildren, Samantha Frampton, Jamie Frampton and Eben Gosse; great grandchildren, Madelyn and Lorelai Gosse; sister, Doreen Smith, of Fredericton; brother, Peter (Heather) Gosse, of Oromocto; as well as several nieces and nephews. 

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Bill and sister, Marjorie. 

There will be a Celebration of Ed’s life at a later date. Once information becomes available the website will be updated.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Ed’s memory may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
