Celebration of Life

At a Later Date

Obituary of Alden Blair Randall

On November 6th, 2025, Alden Blair Randall passed away peacefully in the presence of his family. Born on Mother’s Day, May 13th, 1945 — a feat his mother always had a hard time forgiving him for — Alden brought humour, kindness, and dedication to every aspect of his life.

He was predeceased by his father, Maurice, and mother, Effie (Burns) Randall; sister, Caryl Blackmore (Melvin) and brother, Chet Randall (Jackie).

He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Margie; son, David (Amanda); sister, Linda Morris (Greg), and stepsons, Ted Pond (Kathy), Tim Pond (Marlene), and Barry Pond (Pat). Alden was a proud grandfather to Morgan Randall, Kane Randall, Nicola Bishop (Aaron), Mary-Kate Cassidy (Stephen), T.J. Pond (Melissa) and Elyse Gullison (Ted), a delighted great-grandfather to Hayden Pond and Cole Cassidy and uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Alden dedicated 32 years to education as a teacher and principal in Minto, where he found great joy in connecting with both students and staff. His sense of humour, patience, and leadership left a lasting impression on countless lives.

An avid athlete, Alden played softball, hockey, and basketball in his younger years and had a lifelong passion for duck and deer hunting. His athletic accomplishments were recognized when he was inducted into the New Brunswick Sports Hall of Fame in 2000 as a member of the Hoyt Schooners softball team.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Fredericton Hospice for their exceptional care and compassion during Alden's time there.

As per Alden's wishes, there will be no viewing, but a celebration of life will be held at a later date.

He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him — but as Alden himself would say, “life was good.”

For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to Fredericton Hospice or to a charity of the donor's choice.
