A few words for my brother Serge who passed away:
I want to take a moment to speak about who Serge really was, because his life was made up of far more than dates and accomplishments. He was a man of knowledge, kindness, and generosity, someone who gave freely of his time and was always willing to help. Telling his story matters, because the impact he had on me and others deserves to be remembered.
Serge was a deeply family-oriented man, a loving father and grandfather, people speaking with him quickly realized he was someone who was immensely proud of his children and grandchildren. He cherished time spent with them and especially loved taking them to Disneyland—visits he made at least a dozen times. Family was always at the center of Serge’s life.
Serge was very friendly, easy to get along with, easy to talk to, a friend worth having and the best brother you could ask for. He was skilled in the construction field, where his skills and experience really impressed me. He was generous not only with his time, but also with his knowledge, and he loved to teach others what he knew. He was a excellant golfer. Serge was also a talented guitar player. He loved music, and some of my best memories are when we would do guitar jams together. Those moments of music, the laughter, and connection will never be forgotten.
Serge’s generosity was one of his defining traits. Generous with his time and generous with his money, as an example just last year, he surprised me by showing up giving me a $500 guitar pedal, around the same time he bought his brother jacques a new bike so he could go to work and he bought his mother a new tv( he was always there for his brother jacques and his mom). On multiple occasions Serge came down to help me with my drywall projects, my window replacements, my ceramic kitchen flooring. He was the person who taught me everything i needed to know about being a handyman—lessons that will live on. This is a testament reflecting the type of person Serge was.
For those interested in his life story, many may not know that he left home when he was 15 years old. He moved to Borden, Ontario, where he worked pumping gas and began building his independence early. While there, he bought his first car, a Pontiac Parisienne, which he proudly drove for about a year and a half—despite being too young to have a driver’s license at the time. This chapter of his life reflected the determination, courage, and self-reliance that defined him.
Serge loved to travel, he told me once the best move he ever made was buying his rv. It allowed him to travel all over the states and canada with his beloved Cindy visiting beautiful places and playing golf on the best courses. He loved sports cars and pickups ( his last car was a new corvette) .
Serge shared meaningful chapters of his life with remarkable women who each held a very special place in his heart. He was married to Theresa for about 10 years, and later shared 15 years of his life with Brigitte, she once told me that the best times of her life were spent with Serge. In more recent years, Serge was with Cindy for 4 years, she recently told me that Serge was the love of her life. I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to Cindy for being there for Serge right to the very end. As Serge once told me, “Cindy is my guardian angel.” We, his brothers, would of loved to of been there by his side for his last moments. I offered him several times to go down, but it happened so fast.
This is approximative Serges timeline:
Born 1958
Married Theresa 1978-1988
Joined army 1978 (was deployed to Bosnia and Afghanistan)
Suffered PTSD from a NATO deployment
They had 2 great great children Christina and Bob
Lived with Brigitte 1993-2008
Joined commissionaire workforce 2007…????
Loved Bridgittes 2 kids Binny and Chris
Broke my heart when they seperated
Dated Nadi 2010-2010
Dated Donne 2012-2019
Lived with Cindy 2021-2025
His gardian angle
Serge will be remembered as a family man, a skilled tradesman, a teacher, a good golfer, a musician, and a generous soul. He was always there when it mattered for me. His presence, guidance, and love will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
When help was needed, Serge showed up. On my last conversation with him i will always remember what he said to me : “I lived a great life and I met some great people”.
To you my bro, god bless, take care of your family from above and wait for me . You will be missed.
Your bro Ben

We had the good fortune of meeting Serge on a golf course in Florida in 2023. We became quick friends and over the next two seasons we played countless rounds of golf with him. He was such a wonderfully unique person. He was always joking around making us laugh and always had a positive attitude. He will be truly missed and always fondly remembered.
Our sincere condolences to his family and his loving partner, Cindy.

Serge
Bon repos Grand chef
