Obituary of Wayne Joseph Gray

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Wayne Joseph Gray, who passed away on December 1st, 2025. Born on July 7th, 1965, Wayne was the youngest of eleven children and the beloved son of the late H. Andrew Gray and the late Kathleen (Cyr) Gray.

Wayne was predeceased by his loving spouse and partner, Dorothea Heinzmann; his brothers, Edward Gray, G. William “Billie” Gray, Gary Gray, Paul Gray, Francis “Poppy” Gray; and his sister, Phyllis Gray.

He is survived by his sisters, Pam Duguay (Abbey), Catherine Gray,  Mary Gray and Dianne Gray (Larry).

As a young boy, Wayne was an avid schoolboy hockey player and a proud Boy Scout. He carried a lifelong love for the Boston Bruins, cheering them on through every season. He also had a deep passion for coin collecting, a hobby that brought him joy and pride. Wayne worked as a mover for 25 years before creating his own landscaping business.

Wayne loved nothing more than spending time with his family, sharing stories, laughing, and creating memories that will be treasured forever. Above all, his greatest happiness came from being a Grandpa (Papa). He leaves behind his two children, Amber Gray (Stephen) and Allison Heinzmann (Max), as well as his cherished grandchildren: Layla Davidson, Michael Landry-Heinzmann, and Austin Landry-Heinzmann, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins who he cherished deeply.

Wayne will be remembered for his kindness, his sense of humor, and the deep love he held for his family and friends. He will be forever loved and deeply missed.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Oromocto Funeral Home on Thursday, December 18, 2025, from 2:00 - 4:00 pm and 6:00 - 8:00 pm. Interment will take place at the Oromocto Pioneer Gardens Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to the Capital Region Mental Health & Addictions Association.
