Shauna was my office neighbour when I started working at STU back in 2006. Every Christmas since i remember Shauna, because I told her it was not Christmas until I heard Twisted Christmas and the next thing I know it was playing on CD. She was an amazing person. Condolences to all her family and friends.

Shauna was one of the brightest lights I’ve ever had the privilege of knowing. She had an extremely infectious laugh, fast wit, buckets of empathy and understanding and a warm hospitable heart that provides you with an abundance of acceptance and love. I’m incredibly grateful to have spent time in her company and her circle where she taught me so much about what it is to be a true friend. My deepest condolences to you and much love

Dear family and friends, I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Shawna - such a kind hearted, empathetic, and genuine individual. Shawna acted as a mentor to me during my short employ at St Thomas and helped to guide my path into the Student Services field. I have no doubt she positively impacted many young lives. Sincerest condolences on your loss. —Lindsay Currie (Goss), Halifax, NS

Shauna was that rare and beautiful person that students needing help could go to long before they had access to the professionals in accessibility. Always smiling and always happy but ever the professional troubleshooter. She made life easier for many. She will be missed.

My most sincerest and deepest condolences to James, Doras and Jackie, Angie and the rest of the Stennick and Foote families.
I first met Shauna when I got hired at STU in 2002. She had already been there working after graduation and we hit it off immediately! Her vast knowledge of anything 80's or anything trivia related was amazing. She had mad skills! We would have coffee hour on the weekends at the Sour Grape with our hubbies, go out for wine nights at McGinnis Landing followed by dancing. Most often Shauna was my designated driver for those events back in the early to mid 2000's.
Shauna was a people person. She loved people and people loved her! She excelled at her job at St. Thomas University as a recruiter, then as student counsellor, then academic advisor, until her final position as the Assistant Registrar. Quite an accomplishment for and extraordinary lady. The past few days I have heard from former colleagues and students/alumni and all say the same, she was a sweet lady, always had a smile, great advice and really genuinely cared for people. It was just in her nature.
Shauna was also very giving. She constantly offered up money for any fundraiser at work or for her nieces and nephews schools or teams; she would bid on SPCA auctions or participate in walks or other fundraisers for MS, cancer, etc.; and enjoyed paint and sip nights at Minglers! If you needed a friend to go to a hypnotist or card reader-Shauna was your gal!
Shauna enjoyed life and she lived and loved to the fullest. I am so sad that she left us with still so much more life to live. There will never be another Shauna, I will miss her greatly!

I’m so heartbroken over the passing of this beautiful soul. I worked with Shauna for ten years in the Registrars Office. She always came to work with such a huge smile & positive attitude. Nothing seemed to fizz her. She was so calm in every situation & believe me, there were a lot of situations that we encountered in our ten years in such a busy office. The students loved her & many would request her when they came seeking academic advice. She was a pro at her job.
She will be so missed. James I’m so sorry you have to learn to navigate life without your soulmate. Cherish those beautiful memories you two shared, hold them close to you. Her presence will always be felt.
To her family & friends, I offer my deepest condolences. I will be holding you all close in my prayers for peace & strength as you learn to navigate this difficult journey.

If the world had listened to Shauna and I, we would have solved every political issue and everything would just settle down and be fine. What a dear sweet soul she was, funny as all get out I will miss our chats. She made me smile every time we solved yet another international governmental induced quandary.
Someday there will be a cure for the disease that started this whole terrible journey. We are so grateful to have known her. We love you James and cannot express enough how sad we are for all of Shauna’s family and friends .
