Obituary of Shauna Lee Foote
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Shauna Lee (Stennick) Foote. Following a long illness while in the hospital, surrounded by family she passed on January 9th, 2026, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on October 30th, 1975, she was a cherished daughter of Doras and Jacqueline “Jackie” (Tonge) Stennick, and beloved wife of James Foote.
Shauna was kind and cared deeply for those she loved. She would do anything she could to lend a hand and help others. She had a passion for tormenting her dad, and enjoyed beating James in all their games of chess. Her love for her family was strong, and nothing surpassed the love she had for all her nephews and nieces. She spent all the time she could with them and made sure they knew she loved them with all of her being.
Shauna worked for many years at St. Thomas University, first as a recruiter, then as an Academic Advisor, and finally as the Assistant Registrar. She loved her job and made some amazing friends from her coworkers. She loved helping the students with picking their courses and charting out their educational journey.
She will be greatly missed by her husband, James; parents, Doras and Jackie; sister, Angela Drummond (Jeremy) and their children, Ethan (longtime girlfriend Emma Cassie), Holly, and Ella; father-in-law, Norm Foote; sister-in-law, Cathy Caissie and her children, Lindsay (fiancé Elliot Parker), and Willam; her fur babies Marvin, and Jolene, as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Shauna was predeceased by her brother, Michael Stennick; mother-in-law, Catherine (Jeddore) Foote, and uncle, Robert “Bob” Tonge.
Visitation will be held at the Oromocto Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 14th, 2026, from 2 - 4 & 6 - 8 pm. A funeral service will be held at the Oromocto Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, January 15th, 2026, at 1 pm with Rev. Greg Geldart officiating. Interment will be held in the Morrow Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Crohn's and Colitis Canada, Kidney Foundation of Canada, Canadian Liver Foundation or the Oromocto SPCA.
Shauna, it is your time to rest, but know that you will be dearly missed, and we love you so much.
