Obituary of Henrietta Miriam Gaigneur

It is with sadness that the family of Henrietta Gaigneur announces her passing at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital in Fredericton on Tuesday, January 13, 2026.  Born in Glace Bay, NS, on November 17, 1937 she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Sarah (Ferguson) Wadden. 

Henrietta is survived by sons, Rick and James Gaigneur (Sandy); granddaughter, Alexandra Gaigneur;  brothers, Fred Wadden (Loretta) and Earl Wadden (Marion); sisters, Sandra Crawford (Dave) and Carol Ann Metcalfe; several nieces and nephews.  Henrietta was predeceased by her husband, Peter and several brothers and sisters. 

Henrietta graduated from Foxborough High School in Massachusetts in 1955.  She grew up in Glace Bay and after she married Peter and together they lived in Fredericton then later moved to Oromocto, they also lived in Germany.  She worked at Lavine’s Department Store and Canex on the Base of Gagetown before retiring. 

Visitation will be held at Oromocto Funeral Home on Saturday, January 17, 2026, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A private family interment will take place at a later time. For those who wish, donations in Henrietta’s memory may be made to the NB Heart and Stroke Foundation.
