I first met Bronson when I was probably 10 or something, since we were in the same grade and went to the same schools from (I think) grades 5 to 12. Although we weren’t really that well-acquainted until around the end of high school, when Nick and I both joined the military at the same time in 2008. In many ways, we convinced each other to do it while skipping class and getting high together one day (lol). And we did! We both quit smoking weed, started working out, and kept motivating each other to complete each next recruiting phase, etc. But we kept our word and both eventually made it. Many others talked about doing it, but only he and I ever actually followed through with it.
We ended up in different regiments, in different provinces. But I did end up in New Brunswick for a couple months of pre-deployment training in 2010, and Nick and I hung out all the time there. We’d go out drinking in Fredricton and Saint John’s, etc. So many memories. Those were the good old days, and I’ll always remember Nick for the part he played in it for me - both for being a part of so many good times and for helping motivate me to get there. My life wouldn’t be the same today if I didn’t listen to Nick back then.
A great guy, taken far too young. My deepest condolences to his entire family; especially his kids.

P.S.: I have an old picture buried somewhere of he and I as two ~20 year old privates in Guagetown, drinking in our dress uniforms. I’ll have to look for it though and will include it in a separate post if I find it.
