Obituary of Audrey Florence Coy
The family of Audrey Florence Coy sadly announces she passed away on January 27, 2026 at Central Carleton Nursing Home in Hartland, New Bruswick. She was born on April 26, 1940 to the late William "Bill" and Ruby (Bunker) Thomason in Tracy, NB.
On June 8, 1963, Audrey married Douglas "Doug" Edward Coy of Coytown, NB, and they went on to have 2 children. Sadly she lost the love of her life in April 1998, after nearly 35 years of marriage.
Audrey was a devoted and loving wife and mother, who took great pride in her home, baking, canning and preserving. There were always home cooked meals in lunch boxes and at the dinner table. She was a lady of faith and was a member of the Upper Gagetown Baptist Church. Audrey and Doug enjoyed many years travelling around the region dancing with the Guys and Gals Square Dancing Club.
Audrey will be sadly missed by daughter, Andrea (special friend Allison); son, Douglas; grandsons, Benjamin and Jarrick and their families; brother, Vernon Thomason (Marjorie); sisters-in-law, Pat MacDonald (late Basil Thomason), and Marie Hawkins (late Donald Bunker), as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Donald Bunker and Basil Thomason, and her sister, Erna Schribner (George).
The family would like to give sincere thanks to the staff and Dr. Stocek at Central Carleton Nursing Home for their care of Audrey.
Visitation will be at the Oromocto Funeral Home in Oromocto, NB on Sunday, February 1, 2026 from 6:00 - 8:00pm. A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 2, 2026 in the Oromocto Funeral Home Chapel, beginning at 11:00am, with Rev. Perry Hanley officiating. Audrey is to be interred at th Upper Gagetown Cemetery in the spring. For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to Upper Gagetown Cemetary, Upper Gagetown Baptist Church, Upper Gagetown River Road Lions Club or a charity of the donor's choice.
