My handsome nephew Dave . One of my fondest memories of Dave was at my wedding in Halifax. All my family was gathered in my suite , I thought for sure we were going to be kicked out of the hotel . Our darling Dave started playing the bagpipes . It didn’t go over well with the staff . We had so much fun that evening . It’s a memory I will cherish forever . Fly high with the angels my darling and play those bagpipes for all to hear. I like many more will always love you.

the Poem by Robbie Burns "Scots wa Hae" rings in my ears. Dave was a mentor and a friend. he was fiercely loyal to those he considered friend, and had a giant heart. I'll mis you old friend.
Cathy and family, I am sorry for the pain. I wish this was all different. He will be missed.

I am so saddened to learn of your early departure. Please know that so many will miss you and so many loved you. When I got married, you were there for me as my piper and I had the best piper around. From the many years back when you showed up at the Battalion, you hit it off with anyone and everyone. I can sit here and smile ear to ear, during this sad moment by simply reflecting on some of our many ridiculous conversations that would not be fit for most ears except that of a fellow army buddy or looking back at our time performing at the NS Tattoo. You have left us way too soon old friend.
Love your friend Chris

I've known Dave for over 25 years. He was one of the first people I met in St Jean. A young 18 year old kid, we bonded over music, he couldn't believe I shared his love of classic rock and classic metal. We shared many a cigarette in our cubicles in St Jean. That "evil" grin and "devilish" laugh will never be forgotten. Thanks for the many good memories brother!! Pro Patria

I am thankful to say I had the pleasure of knowing Dave. And more, so I had the honour of officiating his and Cathy’s wedding. Dave was a kind and genuine soul, he served and represented our country, and like a true hero—he answered the call of duty. He is at peace and blessed is the peacekeeper.
