Obituary of Gary Wayne Gibbons

It is with great sadness that the family of Gary Wayne Gibbons announces his passing on Sunday, January 17th, 2016, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital in Fredericton, NB. 

Born in Saint John, NB, he was the son of the late William and Bertha (Despres) Gibbons.

Gary is survived by his son Michael Gibbons (Charity Gilbert); siblings Diane McLellan (Kenneth), Joyce Boucher (Danny) and Bill Gibbons (Dianne); special uncle Patrick Despres (Lorraine), Michael's mother, Darlene Barton;  Gary's special buddy, Gregory McLean; as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express heartfelt gratitude to brother-in-law Danny Boucher for his dedicated care of Gary. We would also like to thank Dr Morrisey and Dr Digby as well as the nurses and staff of the Palliative Care Unit of the Dr Everett Chalmers Hospital for the wonderful care they provided. 

Visitation will take place at the Christian Community Church in Minto, NB, on Wednesday, January 20th, 2016, from 10- 11 AM. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 AM with Pastor David Williston officiating. Interment will take place in Saint Bridget's Catholic Cemetery in Hardwood Ridge. Donations in Gary's memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
