It is with heavy hearts that the family of Linda May Daley announces her passing on May 19, 2026 at home. She was born on December 28, 1948 in Fredericton, N.B. She was a daughter of the late Reginald and Arthurina (Foss) McCoy.
Linda is survived by her children, Joan Allison, John Daley and Jeanette Clowater (Evan); her devoted sisters, Gail Fox (Stephen) and Debbie Dunphy (Bobby); adored grandchildren, Melissa Burgess (Deacon), Ashley Ward (Cody), Kyle Allison, Alex Daley (Kelsey), Amanda Dragos (Andrei), Sheldon Clowater (Brooklyn), Logan Clowater (Grace), Jonathan Clowater (Sarah Clark), Michael Clowater; precious great-grandchildren, Camden & Kinsley Ward, Koda Clowater; as well as many beloved great-grandpuppies.
Besides her parents, Linda was predeceased by her late (dearly missed) husband, John H.C. Daley; her sister (and best friend), Darlene Allaby (Monte); as well as her deeply mourned brothers, Reg and Danny McCoy.
A woman of endless wit and an adventurous spirit, Linda found joy while traveling. Her trips led her to many places, creating lasting memories with the people she loved most. She chased the sun to the beaches of Nassau, Bahamas, and shared an unforgettable trip to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, with her youngest daughter. Florida also held a special place in her heart, drawing her back several times for cherished vacations with most members of her large, extended family. Linda also journeyed to Newfoundland, where she spent the summer with the warm-hearted Daleys--creating beautiful memories with her late family members, Harold and Carol, as well as their children, Jason, Annetta and Roy.
Linda loved country music and was never one to skip a turn on the dance floor. She always had her radio on and she enjoyed watching her daily “stories”. Over the years, she spent time boating along the Saint John River and throughout the Grand Lake Basin. Linda often delighted in playing cribbage, snowmobiling, going for walks, and indulging in ice cream! She was a loyal Ford enthusiast and, in her youth, loved figure skating. When her children became teenagers, Linda would frequently accompany them roller skating. Above all else, her greatest joy was her family and her dear friends. Simple gestures meant so much to her, like a poem within a specially chosen greeting card. Linda showed incredible faith and determination through many years of suffering—the loss of loved ones and physical anguish. Her strength and love will remain with us always.
The family is grateful for everyone who has helped Linda over the years including; Dr. Paulin & staff, Dr. Thompson, Dr. Amanda Caissie, Dr. Michaels, Dr. Faranda, NB Extra-Mural Program (Allie & Megan), homecare support workers (Janice). Heartfelt appreciation to first responders, as well as Crystal, for their dignity in care. Linda’s children want to express their sincere gratitude and heartfelt appreciation to the close-knit community within her Oromocto apartment. Bertha, Bev, Steve, Sid, Manny, Shweta, Neal (among others) have been a constant source of unwavering support, kindness and caring for over ten years. Their thoughtfulness and compassion had meant the world to Linda, creating a true sense of belonging and comfort that will always be cherished.
