Obituary of Douglas George Daley

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Douglas George Daley on May 8, 2026, at home.  Born on December 30, 1950 in Westville, NS, he was the son of the late Douglas and Arsenna (Saulnier) Daley. 

Doug had a very outgoing personality and friendly, he would do anything for a friend. He would help a neighbor out or a stranger it never mattered, he was here to help or welcome you to neighborhood. He was known for driving by and blowing his horn, he also loved to deliver girl guild cookies and rhubarb.  He had lots of advice on vans and could recommend which garage to get the best service.  To know him, was to know his son Carl, they were one in the same.  He truly was a hero without a cape. He was a one of a kind, if you knew him you were as lucky as his family was. 

Surviving are his wife, Ruth; children, Rebecca and Carl; grandchildren, Malcolm and Charleigh; sisters, Mary, Margart Ann, Doris and June.  Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brother, Walter; brothers-in-law, Bobby, Dennis and Joey. 

A funeral service will take place on Saturday, July 18, 2026 at St. John’s Anglican Church, Oromocto at 1:30 pm.  For those who wish, donations in Doug’s memory may be made to the IWK Foundation.
