Verley leaves behind her sons, Dana (Norma Jean) and Brent (Kathleen) Bridges; daughter, Kathy Bridges (Kelly); grandchildren, Nicholas (Erin) and Matthew Bridges, Lacey Harding (Austin) and Michael Bridges; great grandchildren, Ellie, Owen, Wyatt and Sophie; brother, Butch Chapman (Nancy); many nieces, nephews and cousins; brothers-in-law, Gary Bridges (Jo-Ann) and Fred Foster; sisters-in-law, Brenda Kennedy and Alberta Murphy; special friend, Terry Boyce. In addition to her husband, Doug, Verley was predeceased by her parents, Dana and Glenna (Sypher) Chapman; brothers-in-law, Terry Kennedy and Gerald Bridges; sister-in-law, Linda Foster. Mom was a vivacious, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who loved to live life to the fullest. Mom worked as a bookkeeper beside Dad for many years at their business, Doug’s Appliance Service and later as a cook and housekeeper for St. Dunstan’s Catholic Church in Fredericton. She was an active member in her community of Sheffield and was involved in the Women's Institute, 4H Club, UWC and "The Happy Gang." A true social butterfly, Mom loved to host gatherings with family and friends both in her home and at her cottage at Princess Park. In her spare time, she loved to knit, drink wine, watch hockey, listen to country music, dance, travel, read and cook. Always armed with a camera and a cheeky smile, she made sure to capture every special moment in pictures, and she proudly displayed these treasured memories around her home. Mom adored her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. They were her pride enjoy. She valued her friendships and held dear to her heart the laughter and great times she shared with numerous friends and acquaintances. Her enormous smile and caring, loving heart will be greatly missed by everyone. Visitation will be held at Oromocto Funeral Home on Monday, September 6, from 4:00-7:00 pm.
