Obituary of Sheri Lynn Sabattis

It is with broken hearts that the family of Sheri-Lynn Sabattis share the sudden death of their Mother, Sister, Auntie, Niece, Godmother and Cousin. Sheri was born April 19, 1970 to the late Alfred Sabattis and Theresa “Terri” Sabattis (Bobbi) of Oromocto First Nation.

Leaving to mourn her death are her Daughter, Kyla Dawn Sabattis and her partner, Aubrey Landry, and their daughter, Sheri’s Granddaughter and pride and joy, Avery Jade; a son that many mothers would pray to have, caring, loving and the Man of Her House, Talon Sabattis-Simon; Sister, Chief Shelley Sabattis, Oromocto First Nation and her children, Brittany Sabattis, Dr. Allan Sabattis-Atwin (Shawn), Dymond Stevens (Ethan), Desirae Stevens (Terrance), and Drae Stevens (Olivia); Sister, Erin Smith and her Partner, Michael John, Oromocto First Nation, and her children, Trinity, Trent, Mykah, Jonah, Marty-Jayde and Oliver; Brother, Stephen Sabattis of Kingsley, and his children, Brandon, Briana and Tamara; Nikia Sabattis and his Partner, Amanda  of Oromocto First Nation, and his children, Tanisha, Jayden, Nikia, Natiri and Galaxy; Brother, Chad Paul of Oromocto First Nation; children of her late Sister, Wendy: Tiara Sabattis (Tyson) Alyshia Sabattis (Jacob), Randi-Lee Sabattis, and Faith Sabattis (Jake). Sheri had a special love for her Godchildren, Brittany Sabattis and Mykah Sabattis-Smith; she is also survived by many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Great Nieces and Great Nephews and her Best Friend, her “Aunti Phil” Phyllis Sabattis-Lannigan.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her Loving Daughter, Jayde Marie “LadyBug” Sabattis-Black (d 2017) and Sister, Wendy Sabattis (d 2015), along with her Paternal and Maternal Grandparents, Aunts and Uncles.

Sheri loved her job working with the Elders and the Community Food Bank; she was always there to lend a hand when needed.

Sheri will arrive in community for the Traditional Wolastoqey Wake on Thursday, May 2nd, 2024 at 3:00 pm at the home of Chief Shelley Sabattis (6 Wel-a-Mook-Took St, Oromocto). A Catholic Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, May 4th, 2024 at 11:00 am at St Vincent de Paul Catholic Church (Loisville St, Oromocto) with Fr. Proud pallbearers will be the special men in her life, her Son-in-Law, Aubrey, her Brothers, Stephen and Nikia, and her Nephews, Allan, Shawn & Drae.
