Obituary of Dominic Eugene Goodine

With heavy hearts the family of Dominic Eugene Goodine announce his passing on September 18th, 2021 at Fredericton Hospice House. Born in Fredericton on November 26th, 1942, he was the only son of the late Clarence and Winnifred Goodine (nee Murphy) and was the loving husband of 58 years to Betty Goodine (nee Price). In addition to his wife, Eugene leaves to mourn his children; Barbara Wagstaff (Brian), Darryl Goodine (Pam); one granddaughter, Chelsea Goodine; sister, Marilyn Hirschfeld (Herman); special nieces Nancy Hetherington (Paul) and Julie Hirschfeld; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, sisters-in-law, and brothers-in-law. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his sisters, Leona Rowan and Dawn MacInnis. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Brittany Gillis, Dr. Gillis Dolye, extramural nurse Francine Butler, as well as all the staff at Hospice Fredericton for the care and kindness extended to Eugene. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, September 23rd, 2021 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church at 2:00pm. A burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery. For those who wish, donations in his memory may be made to Hospice House Fredericton. Due to current provincial regulations, proof of vaccination and identification will be required for entry to the church.
