Obituary of Patricia Anne Sampson (LeVasseur)
Patricia Anne Sampson (LeVasseur) born July 17 1934 in Boston Massachusetts. Daughter of Oscar and Helen LeVasseur. Predeceased by her sweetheart George in 2008 and also her brother Georgie.
Mother of Andrea (Malcolm Clarke) Malagash, NS, David (Betty) Edmonton, AB, Terry (Jim Bennett) Kingston P.E.I, Kathleen Sampson (Laurent Morin) Calgary, AB, Mark (Rita) Oromocto and Mike Oromocto
She was a charter member of the Oromocto Legion's Lady's Auxiliary. She was a voracious reader of true crime novels. She loved to garden and spend time with her children and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. After a couple of glasses of wine she would love to dance to the "jivey" songs as she called them. A proud Bostonian her whole life, she was a huge Red Sox fan, and later, once introduced to hockey in Canada, a Bruins fan.
She played darts and bowled with the legion. She still laughed about the time she threw the dart out an open window and another time she threw her bowling ball in the other lane. In the later years, she loved going for drives in the car, though given the above stories, it is best she wasn't driving.
She was the sweetest soul who loved to laugh and saw the humour in life. She was smiling and laughing almost up to the end of her life.
Even when diagnosed with dementia she kept her sense of humour. She would say I know who I am, I know who you are and I know where my money is. She also loved to say "the less I do the better I feel" and when she heard she was 87 she would always say "I can't believe it"
We would like to thank the wonderful staff at Paradise Villa. A special thank you to the Tranquility Lane staff and residents who cared for Mum when she was in Palliative care. An extra special thank you to Angela at Paradise Villa who Mum called her buddy. Angela is a real life angel. In lieu of flowers, donations to the IWK or War Amps would be appreciated by the family.
