Obituary of Skyler Dawn Foster

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Skyler Dawn Foster on August 20, 2022, surrounded by her loving family at the IWK Health Centre. Born on September 17, 2014, she was the beloved daughter of Jodie Foster and Darius Brenton. Full of smiles, laughter, jokes, a positive and strong spirit, Skyler carried an aura of love and fun, causing everyone who knew her and were around her to be in such a good and loving mood. She never wanted anyone to be upset, so she took it upon herself to brighten everyone’s day. Unicorns, rainbows, race cars, monster trucks and motorcycles were some of her favourites. She loved animals, and had several close to her heart at home. Family was very important to Skyler, and it showed with her kind and thoughtful gestures to them. She will be greatly missed by her parents, Jodie and Darius; siblings, Sarah, Jaden (Zach), Raven and Colby; paternal grandparents, David and Cherry Hart; aunts, Samantha Taylor (Draper) and Carol Hart; uncles, Billy Foster and David Hart; cousins, Cody, Logan, Jacob and Conner; best friend, Laura Gouthro, as well as many close friends and extended family. Skyler was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Shirley Foster and Robert Lanteigne. The family would like to give a special thank you to all the staff at the IWK Paediatric Intensive Care Unit for their incredible support, dedication and care to Skyler and them. A visitation will be held on Friday, August 26, 2022 at Oromocto Funeral Home from 4 – 7 pm & Saturday, August 27, 2022, from 2 – 4 pm & 7 – 9pm. A celebration of Skyler’s life will be held at Speedway 660, on her 8th birthday, September 17, 2022, time to be announced later. For those who wish, donations in Skyler's memory may be made to Epilepsy Association of the Maritimes or the IWK Health Centre Foundation.
