The passing of Robert (Bob) Elliott Frederick Tonge occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital in Fredericton on October 2, 2022 at the age of 64, following a courageous battle of pancreatic cancer which he fought tiredlessly until his final days. He was the son of the late John (Jack) and Muriel (Elliott) Tonge. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Roxanne (Oram); his two sons Jonathan (Amanda) and Patrick both of Geary; and his three loving and cherished granddaughters Julia Charest of Trenton ON, Mataya and Paige of Geary. Survived by his four sisters Susan Jordan (Andy) of Ripples NB, Candace Mosley (Ed) of Harvey NB, Jackie Stennick (Doras) of French Lake NB, Cathy Tonge of Crow Hill NB, many nieces and nephews as well as his racing family (O’Blenis Motorsports) of Moncton NB. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his nephew Michael Stennick. Bob was employed as a Stationary Engineer for 32 years at DND CFB Gagetown until his retirement, then became a truck driver for Stennick General Contracting Ltd. On weekends, Bob enjoyed being a member of the O’Blenis Motorsports racing team. The family would like to extend sincere thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff of the DECH 3E Palliative Care unit for the care and compassion they provided. Gratitude and appreciation is also extended to Extra Mural staff. The family will receive visitors at the Oromocto Funeral Home, 108 Winnebago Street, Oromocto, NB, on Wednesday October 5, 2022 from 5-8 PM.
