Joan and Family, just heard of Vernon’s passing. So sorry for your loss. I was Vernon’s secretary when we worked at Kingsclear Ranger Office and he left a lasting impact on me. Of all the bosses I have had working, Vernon has always been my Favoriate. I saw him in hospital last year when my brother and him were on the same floor and he always knew me and would say there’s the best secretary I ever had. Praying for you at this time and days ahead.

To you all of the Kierstead family,
David & I were so very sorry to read about Vern. He has been a constant in our Grand Lake moments since forever!!!! He would be seen driving to check on things at Roger & Debbie’s cottage in recent years. Before that I remember his calling us ,in the off season, to say he had been down to the lake & checked our cottage & could report that all was well there. We really appreciated his neighbourly concern.
David & I are so very sorry that we are unable to attend the service on Sunday as we have our own very big service , Advent Processional at Christ Church Cathedral. The service is at 4PM, but we need to be in place to rehearse at 3PM. Our choir is not very big & every singer is essential. We shall be thinking of you as we sing & pray in our service. God bless !!

In case my dear father-in-law gets to read this from Heaven, I want to say you were the best! I got to feel like a real daughter in a family of boys and you welcomed our gaggle of girls with joy after having the shock of yet another Kierstead born into the family. I will think of you when those clementine oranges go on sale and we have to pick out a Christmas tree. You showed what love looks like, on so many levels. You and I teared up at the same time at those touching moments of life and I got to see you had the biggest heart under a sometimes gruff exterior. I will be forever grateful for a dad-in-law who chose to be a bless me all my married life to your middle son.
You were the best; I say it again!
