Obituary of George Alfred Woodard

With sorrow and love, we mourn the passing of George Woodard, of Oromocto, on November 27, 2022, at age 91.

 

He will be remembered with love by his children, Michele, Eric, David and Lisa; grandchildren, Rebecca, Shawn, and Christopher, and his great-grandchildren, Ethan, Jonathan, Sophie, Avery, and Kristen.

 

He was predeceased by his loving wife Marian, brother Ralph; sister Leora, and his parents, Harriet and Fred.

 

Originally from St. Stephen, George dreamt of broader horizons and enlisted in the army and soon was sent to Korea. He loved to travel, and during his three postings to Germany he took his wife and family all around Europe.

 

As a person, George was kind, compassionate and open-minded. He cared deeply about his friends and family as well as the men who worked under him, and had a gift for understanding other peoples' points of view.

 

The family would like to express our sincere appreciation to the staff at the Veterans Health Unit in Fredericton for their expert care, kindness and genuine affection for George.

 

At George’s request, no service will be held. For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to the Oromocto RSPCA, at 111 D'Amours St, Oromocto, NB E2V 0G5.
