Obituary of Charlotte Gouthro

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Charlotte  Gouthro on December 27, 2022 at her home in Pembroke, ON.  Born in Danzig, Poland she was the daughter of the late Kurt and Ericka (Duwensee) Seeger and wife of the late Roland Bernard Gouthro, the love of her life.  She was also predeceased by her beloved son, Bernard “Bernie” Gouthro.

Mom was the strongest person we knew.  She loved all of her family and friends so deeply and she was able to touch many hearts over her lifetime.  She enjoyed helping others and was often found knitting, baking or gardening, often sharing the fruits of her labours and company was always welcome in her home.  She was also extremely proud to be a “military wife” and was very grateful upon receiving her silver cross.

She will be remembered by her daughters, Brigitte Myshrall (Delmont) of Fredericton, NB, Annie Marie Biesenthal (Greg) of Pembroke, ON and Monika Liebig of Germany; grandchildren, Jim States of Douglas, ON and Darcy Myshrall of Fredericton, NB; great grandson, Riley States of Douglas, ON; cousins, Adele, Hubba (Joseph) and John Gouthro “Little Rolly”; neighbours, Carolyn and Bob, Phyllis and Brian and Shawn as well as her friends, Shirley and Wayne.  Charlotte and her family were also grateful to many wonderful care givers, many who became friends such as Cecile “Lucille” and Katey.  The family also appreciated the caregivers from Bayshore and Dr. Meziane for her numerous house visits.

Visitation will be held at Oromocto Funeral Home, 108 Winnebago St., on Friday, January 6, 2023 from 4-7 pm.  The funeral service will take place at the Oromocto Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at 1:00 pm.  Rev. John Jennings will officiate.  Interment will be held at a later date in the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Cemetery.  For those who wish memorial tributes in Charlotte’s honor may be made to the Oromocto Food Bank, the Salvation Army or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
