Obituary of Valerie Yvonne Sark

It is with great sadness that the family of Valerie Yvonne Sark announces her passing at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Friday, January 20, 2023 at the age of 71. Born in Oromocto, NB, on October 15, 1951, she was the wife of Gerald Sark of Oromocto, NB.

In addition to her husband of 52 years, Gerald, Valerie is survived by her son, Philip “Baby” Sark (Kim); daughter, Anne-Louise Dauphinee (Kelly); grandchildren, Joey, Madison, Josh, Cole, and Erica; brothers, Warren (Monique), Wendell (Edna) and Lloyd Nash; sisters, Mary, Joyce, Anna, and Liz Paul; godson, Clarence Nash, along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members. Valerie was predeceased by her parents, George and Christina (Atwin) Nash; sons, Gerald “Bubba” and George Sark; brother, Gordon “Butchie” Nash, and her sister, Carolyn Jean “Dubby” Nash.

Valerie will be remembered by her family as a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved sports, especially hockey and the Ottawa Senators, and always made sure her kids were at their games, rain or shine. When her grandchildren became involved in sports, she loved to watch them play and even had a hockey jersey with “nanny” on it. Valerie was an avid outdoorswoman and also enjoyed fishing and hunting with her family.

Visitation will be held at Oromocto Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 25, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church on Thursday, January 26, 2023 at 3 pm with Fr. Charles Udeh as celebrant. A reception will be held in the church hall following the service. Interment will take place in the spring. For those who wish, donations in Valerie’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Online condolences may be left at www.oromoctofh.com.
