Obituary of Laurie Charles Carr

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Laurie Charles Carr on January 10, 2023, in Winnipeg, MB, originally of Geary, NB. Born on November 30, 1964, he was the son of the late Rued and Eva (Mowry) Carr, and chosen son of Gloria Buchanan and the late Tom Buchanan.

In addition to his parents, Laurie was predeceased by a brother, Ronald Carr.

Laurie loved to spend time in nature, where he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and exploring the back roads of New Brunswick. He also enjoyed being a Papa to all of his grandchildren, spending time with them, and watching them grow.

Laurie is survived by daughters, Jodee Hinchey (David Hollister) of Kingston, ON, and Sarah Hinchey of Boiestown, NB; sons, Charles Carr, and Jason Buchanan (Virginia) both of Oromocto, NB; grandchildren, Makayla, Kierstin, and Anthony Buchanan, Jaxon, Isaac, Lucas, Amelia, and Malayah Hinchey; sisters, Bonita Harnish (Robert), Heather Boone (Ian), and Lorraine Ball (Linden); brothers, Arthur Carr (Debbie), and Darrell Carr (Dolores); sister-in-law, Linda Carr; special nephew (brother), Neil Harnish, as well as many nephews, nieces and cousins.

A visitation will take place on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at Oromocto Funeral Home from 2- 4 pm and 6 – 8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at 11 am, with Fr. Charles Udeh as celebrant.
