Our sympathy to all all the Owens family on the death of their beloved Dad. Bartley and Caddie were wonderful people. We have many memories of visiting them and playing cards. When I look back on all those summer visits with you and Catty, I feel grateful at how it built a special bond between our families. Words often fall short when we try to convey how much someone really meant to us. We can tell people how much we loved that person; we can explain how sharing time with that person made our lives better, how we always felt loved and how happy that made us. How the things that person shared with you stayed in your heart, and the impact they had on the person that you have become. Somehow even with all that said, you feel like you still have not got across the message of just how important that person was to you, and how much you loved them. Uncle Bartley wrote a message of love, kindness, and humour on my heart. I am sad to know that my trips to New Brunswick will be so different now. I will always treasure the stories he shared with me from the old days, and I am grateful for the wisdom and guidance he provided. I appreciate how sweet he was, and his sense of humour, but mostly, I am forever grateful to have spent time with him. My thoughts are with my beautiful New Brunswick family as they traverse their journey of grief. May they find comfort in all their beautiful memories. Uncle Bartley, may you rest in peace. Bartley and the entire Owen's family were such a solid and significant part of our neighbourhood while we were growing up. The memories mean so much. Feeling such sadness as Bartley's passing is definitely the end of a chapter with many sweet memories and feelings. Sincerest condolences to all of the Owen's family. Love and prayers.

Uncle Bartley, it’s hard to put into words how much you meant to our family. You were an amazing big brother to my Dad and generously opened your home to us every summer. We all look back on those times with such fondness and love. From the “settle down now girls” to the walks in your garden and letting me feed Iggy, Squiggy, and Miss Piggy, I will always treasure your strength, wisdom, and love. Your children are loving and kind souls which is a direct reflection of your and Aunt Cattie’s strong morals and love. We will miss you tremendously and are sending all our love to your children, grandchildren and great-children.

I remember visiting every summer. I always thought Uncle Bartley was so stoic. He tolerated our young antics and every so often I would see him hiding a smile at our foolishness. I loved him and his graciousness. My love goes out to you all. I’m so sorry for your loss.
