Obituary of Frances May Craig

Frances May Craig of Gagetown, wife of the late Raymond Craig, passed away on December 16, 2023 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital.  Born on June 14, 1927 she was a daughter of the late Frank and Margaret (Appleby) Hitchman.

Frances was a cook for over 35 years for various organizations in Fredericton including Joe’s Diner and Key’s Diner.  She was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion and was an avid crib player.

Surviving are her brother, Donald (Elsbeth) Hitchman; sister, Maxine Kennedy and several nieces, nephews and cousins.  Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sister, Pauline Joyce and brother, Frank Hitchman. 

Visitation will be held at Oromocto Funeral Home on Thursday, December 21, from 6:00 - 8:00 pm.  A private interment will take place at Upper Gagetown Cemetery.   For those who wish, donations in Frances’s memory may be made to The Upper Gagetown Cemetery Fund or the charity of the donor’s choice.
