Obituary of Malcolm Leonard Toole
The family is saddened to announce the passing of Malcolm “Mac” Leonard Toole on January 6, 2024, in his home surrounded by his loved ones. Born on November 15, 1948, in the Oromocto area, he was the son of the late Douglas and Alma (Wood) Toole.
Mac will be sorely missed by his children, Tim Toole and Melodie Dickson (James); beloved granddaughters, Blake and Lily Dickson; brothers, Philip (Cheryl Bulmer), Chris (Barb), Terry (Irene), and Donald Toole (Mary); sister-in-law, Sue Toole, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to his parents, Mac was predeceased by his loving wife of 47 years, Josephine; brothers, Fred and Karl; and sisters-in-law, Fran and Gladys.
Mac grew up in the Oromocto area and dedicated his life to serving his community. He loved being a fire fighter and his devotion to being a first responder spanned 4 decades. Upon retirement, he reveled in being able to spend more time with his darling granddaughters, and to watch the Toronto Maple Leafs as they vied for Sir Stanley’s cup each year, knowing next year would be The Year!
The family would like to extend their deepest thanks to the extra mural program, Ambulance New Brunswick, the ICU at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital and most especially Alice from Integrity Home Health Services for their kindness, compassion and care over these difficult times.
A visitation will be held at Oromocto Funeral Home on Friday, January 12, 2024, from 2:00 to 4:00pm and 6:00 to 8:00pm. Donations to Hope for Wildlife in Mac’s memory would be appreciated by the family.
