Obituary of Brenda Retta Nickerson

It is with sadness that the family of Brenda Nickerson announces her passing at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital in Fredericton on Friday, February 2, 2024, at the age of 72. Born in Fredericton, NB, on January 1, 1952, she was the wife of Clifford Nickerson of Geary.

In addition to her husband, Cliff, Brenda leaves behind her children, Mitchell Nickerson (Victoria) and Jennie Lee Morris (Bradley); grandchildren, Amelia, Evelyn, Bretta and Lily-Anne; brother, James Piercy; sister, Deborah Ellis (Don); in-laws, Clifford and Velma Nickerson; sister-in-law, Cathy Piercy, and a large extended family. Brenda was predeceased by her parents, Ewart and Retta (Smith) Piercy; brother, Gary Piercy; sister-in-law, April Piercy.

Brenda was a lifelong resident of Geary. Following her graduation from Oromocto High School she began her career with the Government of New Brunswick where she was employed for 35 years.

Brenda spent her retirement years enjoying her many hobbies, including gardening and quilting, and loved to spend time with her four granddaughters. She enjoyed travelling with her husband Cliff and together and they went on many trips. She especially loved the time they spent in the Dominican Republic.

There will be no formal service. A visitation will be held at Oromocto Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm. For those who wish to honor her Brenda’s family suggests planting a peony in her memory.
