Dear Gaila & family. Tom and I have been so fortunate to enjoy time with your family. We especially remember the time Wayne joined with Tom and Alex Mcgibbon as they played and sang at the Playhouse in Fredericton for Hearts for the Homeless. It was a spectacular night sharing the stage for a great cause. The group received many comments on their performance. I always loved Wayne's smile and quick wit. May your many memories of your wonderful life together bring some comfort.

I first met Wayne and Gaila when we were among the people concerned about the deteriorating condition of the lake. His many interests and skills soon became evident to me and his music was the icing on the cake. Things were always lively around their place and I even learned how to accompany his fiddle by chording on the piano. It was such fun. His talent and wit livened all our occasions. He was a remarkable person and I miss him so much. I feel personally bereaved and send my deepest condolences to Gaila, Jason and Darcy.

My deepest condolences to Gaila, Jason and Darcy. Wayne was an amazing man and I was one of the fortunate ones to have met him and love him. He was definitely a Jack-of-all-trades and everything he touched turned to gold. He was an amazing Dad to Jason and Darcy and you could not help but laugh when his comical side came out. Wayne taught me to water ski and it was the best time ever. Wayne touched so many people and loved meeting new people and he especially enjoyed get-togethers with friends he met along the way. My hat is off to you Wayne and without a doubt you are entertaining by playing your fiddle and keeping everyone hopping. Love you always, Judy xoxo

Wayne was an amazing soul. To meet him was to love him. Yes, he was a gifted Jack of all trades and was more than willing to patiently teach me when I asked for help that drew on his skill set.
I still remember visiting Wayne and Gaila in Oromocto and Wayne showing me how to use a wood splitter for firewood. I was hooked and spent hours splitting wood.
He had a wonderful military career, travelled all over and used to tell stories that were captivating.
Wayne also had an incredible sense of humour which is what I will probably remember most about him. He would laugh at his own jokes and you could not help laughing with him.
He will be missed by everyone that knew him. Heaven gained an angel, he is up there fiddling.
My love and deepest condolences to the family oxoxoxo

Dear Gaila, Sending sincere sympathy to you and your family at this very sad time. Wayne will be missed tremendously not only by your family but by friends all across Canada and those in the local community. He was one of the smartest and kindest people I have ever met. He was knowledgeable on every topic and had a wonderful sense of humour. His musical talent was extraordinary and I especially remember the summer in Halifax when he dressed in a period costume and performed on the waterfront, his skill with the fiddle was amazing and people loved him. I also remember his assistance when I purchased a rustic cottage at Grand Lake over 20 years ago, Wayne was one of the first people who arrived to visit and offered hands on help with carpentry. There is so much more that could be said but the main thing is that he was a wonderful husband and father and cared deeply about others, he will be missed.

I was very sorry to hear of Wayne's passing. I first met Wayne through Gaila about 40 years ago. Gaila and I and many others met in first year University at Carleton University. He always tried to make us laugh. He had a very accomplished career, and loved his hobbies. They always welcomed my family to visit when in New Brunswick. They treated us to the royal treatment, with great food and hospitality. He will surely be missed by many. My condolences to the entire family.

My condolences to Wayne’s family and friends on the loss of a good friend.
I first met Wayne when I was posted to Satellite Tracking in 1977. He became a good friend and in later years whenever we met the friendship was always stronger. His smile, laughter, and the talks we had I still remember fondly.
His loss makes a void in everyone’s life.
rIP my friend.

You all have my condolences.
I first met Wayne on vacation together in Greece.
I enjoyed his company always.
He had a kwirky sense of humour, a lot of mental energy and a unique disposition.
He could fix almost anything and was a good storyteller.
I am grateful to have had the opportunity to know him.
I would wish him to rest in peace but I believe he is in heaven playing the fiddle

I like to remember Wayne as a founding member of the musical group The Village Idiots (Cambridge-Narrows, NB).
Wayne was so devoted to music, both playing and building violins. He was a very accomplished craftsman.
Above all, Wayne was a wonderful friend and neighbour. He will be very much missed.
