Obituary of Gordon Basil O'Leary

It is with broken hearts that the family of Gordon Basil O’Leary announces his passing on April 17, 2024 at the Dr Everett Chalmers Hospital. Born on August 25, 1957, he was the son of the late Basil and Joan (Cass) O’Leary.

Gord was known as a kind, loving, and generous man. He loved collecting die cast motorcycles, to the point that Ruth wasn’t sure were to put them all. He loved the races and would be found at the Speedway 660 in Geary whenever he could.

Gord will be missed by his children, Brandy O’Leary, Anthony O’Leary (Rina), and Charity Nash; grandchildren, Ethan, Evan, and Cass; sisters, Ruth, Margaret, Anita, Judy, and Pam; brother, Jamie; extra special friend (they called each other brother), Kenny Steeves (Kim), as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

In addition to his parents, Gord was predeceased by his infant brother, George and brother-in-law, Stephen “Bucko” MacDonald.

A very special thank you to Dr. Scott Robertson, who has taken such great care of all of our family.

A memorial service will be held at the Oromocto Funeral Home on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at 2:00 pm, with a reception to follow.
