Lachlan MacIntosh

Obituary of Lachlan MacIntosh

Peacefully and surrounded by family, on June 7, 2024, Aden “Lachlan” MacIntosh, passed away at Fredericton Hospice. Born on November 14, 1955 in Fort Fairfield, Maine, raised in Perth Andover, NB, he was the son of the late Donald Ian MacIntosh and Antonena Valentina Tischenko of Ternopil, Ukraine.

Lach will be sadly missed by his partner Michele McElwain of Lincoln, his sons Cameron (Jessie) of Hanwell, Andrew (Ava) of Miramichi and grandchildren Mason, Nena and Landon as well as the mother of his children, Susan. He is also survived by his sister Jennifer (Ross) Grant and Bruce (Leisa) MacIntosh, both of Perth Andover, as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Lach was predeceased by his brother, Duncan MacIntosh

Lach was employed at the Dr Everett Chalmer’s Hospital Shipping and Receiving for 30 years where he also organized an annual hospital ball tournament that lasted nearly two decades and most recently at Scott’s Nursery, where he made numerous friends and acquaintances.

Lach loved music, reading, poetry and sharing good times especially the holidays. A highlight for Lach was his annual Shamalama Lawn Bowl tourney he organized for friends and family. Throughout his life he was active with Softball New Brunswick either playing, coaching or umpiring. A devoted Habs fan, wonderful father and proud Grampy, Lach was kind and generous by nature.

He would not want friends and family to mourn him, rather to celebrate the love and joy he brought to our lives. So raise a glass in toast to Lachlan and say yes you are loved. Indeed he is.

The family would like to thank all the staff and volunteers at Hospice Fredericton for all their wonderful care.

Donations in Lachlan's memory may be made to Hospice Fredericton.
