Obituary of Kathleen Boone

It is with great sadness that the family of Kathleen Boone of Geary, announce her passing at the Oromocto Public Hospital on June 20th, 2024. She was born on November 19th, 1934 in Geary, New Brunswick.

She is survived by her daughters, Rosemarie Boone and Diana Castonguay (Rejean); sister, Mavis Brochu, brother, Lawrence Carr (Elva) and special niece Stephanie Brochu and her children Colby and Chloe; and several nieces and nephews.

Kathleen is predeceased by her husband Moran Boone (1995); father,  Hazen Carr, mother,  Muriel Carr (MacMillan); brother, Lloyd Carr and sister,  Joyce Grasse; brothers-in-law,  Raymond Brochu and Carl Grasse and sister-in-law,  Freda Carr.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Doctor Reid and the nurses on Floor 1 of the Oromocto Public Hospital for their compassion and understanding during these last few difficult days. Special thanks to Extra Mural whose care and professionalism have helped Kathleen for the last few years.

Kathleen worked at Base Gagetown for several years. Her first love was her family. She took care of family members since she was 11 years old and was always there for anyone who needed her. Her home was a loving and fun gathering place for family and friends. The teapot was always on and the smell of homemade bread baking and baked goods was always in the air. She had to move in with her daughter Diana and son-in-law Rejean after bad health made it unsafe for her to live alone. She also loved hunting and fishing. She was a great lady of faith and she was a faithful member of the Geary United Pentecostal Church.

Visitation will be at the Geary United Pentecostal Church on Saturday, June 22, from 6-8 pm and Sunday June 23, from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm. Funeral service will be held at the Geary United Pentecostal Church on Monday June 24, at 2 pm, with a private family burial to follow. A reception will be held at the Geary Lions Club following interment.

Donation in memory of Kathleen can be made to the Geary United Pentecostal Church or to CARMA.
