Obituary of Thelma Irene Bobbitt

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother, sister, and grandmother, Thelma Bobbitt, on Friday, June 28, 2024. Mom was born on August 12,1945 to her parents, the late Lucy (Kendall) and Leonard Bonar.

Thelma is survived by her two sons, Stephen (Doline) of Burton, NB, and Jason of Kelowna, BC; two beloved granddaughters, Vanessa and Brianna; sister, Joan Putman, and a great number of nieces and nephews. 

Besides her parents, Mom was predeceased by her brothers, Alphonse "Toddy", Cecil, Harrison, and Leonard, and sisters, Edna, Frances, Helen, and Marion. Mom also leaves behind her second family, the Curries (Michelle, Kenny, Jessica, and Josh), whose bond with Thelma was as deep as it was loving.  

In her final days, Mom was surrounded by those she held dear, including her closest and longest-standing friends, whose loyalty and companionship enriched her life immeasurably.  

A celebration of Thelma’s life will take place on August 6, 2024, from 12:00-2:00 pm at Oromocto Funeral Home, after a private family service.

For those who wish, donations in memory of Thelma may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or a charity of the donor’s choice.
