Joan Fraser

Obituary of Joan Fraser

It is with great sadness that our family announces the peaceful passing of Patricia “Joan” Fraser, on the 4th of September 2024, at Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital in Fredericton, New Brunswick. Joan was born in Dauphin, Manitoba on the 2nd of November 1950. She was the daughter of the late Harold and Hazel Harkes.

Joan spent 54 wonderful years married to the love of her life, Jack Fraser. In addition to her husband Jack, she will be missed by her daughter, Tricia; son Peter Fraser (Crystal), and grandchildren Kaitlynn Randall (Sam), Owen Fraser, Aadia Fraser (Luke) and Calvin Jack “CJ” Fraser. Joan also leaves behind her sister, Judy El-Hakim (Sabry); nephew Ian Lecours (Melinda); brother-in-law Jim Fraser, and sister-in-law, Linda Fraser. In addition to her parents, she was pre-deceased by her nephew, Adam Lecours.

Having grown up in a proud military family, Joan developed a love for travel as she often moved across the country. She graduated high school in Falls Church, Virginia, USA, before graduating from St. Thomas University in Fredericton, New Brunswick. Joan was a proud teacher for over 30 years and was passionate about her work inside the classroom.

She was dearly loved by her family, and truly was the heart of it. She will be remembered most by her witty sense of humour, her guidance, and her wisdom.   A lifetime of love, adventure, humor and bliss now lives in our memories.

The family would like to offer our appreciation to the doctors, nurses and staff at Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital for the care provided to Joan.  A special thank you to Susan McCully for her exceptional Support and unwavering dedication.

In keeping with Joan’s wishes, there will be no visitation and no funeral service. For those who wish, donations in Joan’s memory can be made to the Chalmer’s Foundation or a charity of the donor's choice.

 “A life full of blessings”
