Obituary of Edward Joyner Holleran

The family is sad to announce the passing of Edward Joyner Holleran on September 19, 2024 in Oromocto, New Brunswick. Born on August 19, 1939, in Johnville, New Brunswick, he was the son of the late Lambert and Mary (Connors) Holleran.

Ed will be missed by his children, Paul (Krista), Darrell (Amber), and Heather (Aaron); grandchildren, Samantha, Chelsy (Matthew), Liam (Sarah), Connor, Ben, and Hannah; great granddaughter, Kali; siblings, Lois, Laurence (Maryellen), Rita (Dennis), Joe (Joyce), Charlie (Diana), Art (Cindy) and Walter (Suzanne); brother-in-law, Danny (Kathy), as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.

In addition to his parents, Ed was predeceased by his loving wife, Barbara (Morehouse) Holleran; brother, Francis (Mary) and sisters, Gertrude (Leo) and Mona (Gilbert).

Always the first called, Ed was known to be the guy who was happy to help with any project. He loved construction and carpentry, and even got his plumbing and electrical licenses to be able to build his family’s houses himself. When he was unable to do large projects, he would lend his talents to building fine furniture, and eventually turning bowls on his lathe, many of which the family enjoy to this day.

Ed’s family meant the world to him, and his grandchildren were the apples of his eye. He will be missed dearly.

A sincere thank you to the nurses and staff of the Extra Mural Program, and Oromocto Public Hospital for all their kindness, care, and compassion during the last few months.

The family invite you to join them to celebrate Ed’s life at the family farmhouse, 525 Route 102, Burton, NB, on Saturday, September 28, 2024 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm. He will be laid to rest with his wife in the Fairhaven Cemetery in Moncton, NB at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Ed’s name to the Oromocto Public Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
