We were heartbroken to hear about Dick's passing. He was a wonderful neighbor and friend. His smile and laugh were infectious and we have many fond memories of our time sharing walls in the PMQ’s London. Our sincere condolences and our thoughts are with you during this difficult time.

My most sincere condolences to the Rutter family. Dick was a great member of the Military Police Branch and a very kind man. I have many fond memories of working with him in Ottawa at NDHQ. He was always available as a sounding board when there were matters that would impact our non-commissioned members; he always gave sound advice. Rest in Peace.

Our sincere condolences to Gloria, family and friends of Dick. We worked together in my final SIU posting at Capital Detachment. A great fellow with a wonderful sense of humour. As you look down I promise to keep my tie away from the packing tape. RIP.

On behalf of all members of the Canadian Provost Corps Association I extend our deepest condolences to the Family of my former Canadian Provost Corps / CF Military Police colleague. First served with him at CFB Gagetown back in the late sixties and watched him progress through the ranks rapidly. There's no words to express how much I'm going to miss you. My heart broke when I heard. I'll always cherish the memories of when you, Dad, Grandpa, Uncle Frank all used to play guitar, spoons, harmonica and sing. Those were some of my fav memories. Always loved hearing you sing. Hoping to get a hold of some of the songs you wrote. Love you forever and always...your Didi. <3 Til we meet again.

Gloria and family
We don't have enough words to express our feelings about the loss of this wonderful man. Jim has so many memories, dating back nearly 60 years of good times well spent together. Jim remembers playing guitar many times, driving out east together to visit Gloria's mom in the 73 Ford, (retired police car). Remember the milk going sour and exploding making the whole car stink. Too many family visits and Christmases to number. Pulling Angela around on a board with casters as a child while she was in a cast from the waist down. Once I came on the scene I remember many lovely visits to Ottawa and particularly enjoying a CD Dick recorded. I heard Jim Reeves after I heard Dick singing, so always thought Jim sounded like Dick, while Dick thought he sounded like Jim. Well you've walked the Road to Heaven and made it home now. We'll see you on the other side! We wish that we could be there to say goodbye in person this week but unfortunately we are babysitting two of our grandchildren while their parents are in Mexico. So we will think of you all on Thursday and remember Dick always. Much love, Jim and Lisa
